What is your organization’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to the team?

Red Alert Labs is involved in most of the working package of the CERTAIN project from the project management and technical coordination, through the definition of requirements, legal, ethical and societal aspects to the experiment tools and certification pilot phase. The main contribution of Red Alert Labs will be in the development and implementation of a platform designed to streamline the certification of AI systems, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance. This will be built upon a comprehensive framework of regulatory requirements identified in other CERTAIN phases, enabling certification bodies to issue and monitor certifications across the AI system’s entire lifecycle. At the same time, it simplifies the certification journey for vendors through structured processes. The platform will also provide both AI system providers and certification authorities with standardized tools to evaluate and demonstrate conformity with regulations. The initiative ultimately aims to improve the efficiency of certification processes.

How do you think CERTAIN will contribute to the Artificial Intelligence landscape in Europe?
