CERTAIN Project Enters Clinical Study Phase

The CERTAIN project has entered the clinical study phase, with implementation now underway at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit of UKC Maribor. The study is being conducted in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor (UM FERI).

Within this phase, a digital solution is being tested in a real-world clinical setting, designed to support healthcare professionals at the very beginning of the care process. By enabling the early collection of key information, the tool helps structure initial assessments and supports faster, more targeted decision-making.

In practice, this approach aims to reduce waiting times, improve clarity in care pathways, and ensure that children and adolescents receive appropriate support as early as possible. Early feedback from the clinical environment highlights the value of such solutions, particularly in complex and time-sensitive contexts such as child and adolescent mental health.

An important aspect of the study is the active involvement of children and adolescents. Their participation provides valuable insights into usability and relevance, while also confirming the importance of designing solutions that are not only clinically effective but also meaningful and accessible to end users.
