CERTAIN has officially joined a strategic partnership with three other Horizon Europe-funded projects — DataPACT, ACHILLES, and ACCOMPLISH — to launch the DICE Alliance (Data, Innovation, Compliance, Ethics). This new collaboration aims to accelerate the development of secure, interoperable, and trustworthy data ecosystems across Europe.
The announcement was made during the AI, Data & Robotics Forum (ADRF) held on 23–24 September in Stavanger, Norway. There, the four projects held a dedicated strategic meeting to align roadmaps, share insights, and coordinate efforts to address Europe’s most pressing data governance challenges.
A common vision for data sovereignty and AI trust
All four projects tackle complementary aspects of the evolving European data and AI landscape — from regulatory compliance and ethical design to privacy protection and trustworthy AI. CERTAIN plays a key role in this ecosystem by developing next-generation tools that support compliance, data quality assessment, bias measurement, and privacy protection in data-driven applications.
“CERTAIN is exploring next-generation tools to ensure trust and compliance in the European data and AI economy, including privacy of data and fairness of AI systems. Joining this partnership means we can test and co-develop components with like-minded experts, which leads to more robust and widely usable outcomes,” said Claude Bauzou, Project Coordinator of CERTAIN.
Advancing EU digital goals together
The DICE Alliance directly supports the EU’s Digital Decade targets and the implementation of key legislation such as the Data Governance Act, Data Act, and upcoming regulations on AI governance and digital sovereignty. Through shared use cases, harmonized architecture guidelines, and coordinated engagement with regulators and industry, the four projects aim to offer practical, scalable solutions for Europe’s public and private sectors.
During ADRF 2025, the projects contributed to various sessions, showcasing how their individual innovations align to form a coherent framework for secure and compliant data sharing — from health and mobility to finance and manufacturing.
What’s Next
The DICE Alliance will continue aligning its research and development efforts to produce interoperable frameworks, audit-ready toolkits, and scalable governance models that address Europe’s strategic priorities in digital innovation and sovereignty.
Stay tuned to the CERTAIN website and newsletter for updates on our joint progress and upcoming use case pilots.
